“When Love Hurts” completes the triple single set with strong vocals, relatable lyrics, and a fun production. Still, she delivers incredible vocals and meaningful lyrics.
“Save My Soul” has a much darker, dreaded tone to it. “Say Love” has a great rhythm, along with great lyrics and vocals.
It consists of three new songs, “Say Love,” “Save My Soul,” and “When Love Hurts.” This new set of singles offers a much more diverse, grown up sound. She signed in 2004 therefore, the contract should have expired in 2011. Thankfully, JoJo got out of her contract considering that it was illegal to sign a minor for more than 7 years in the state of New York. Her fans created a hashtag that trended well across different social media platforms begging Blackground Records to #FreeJoJo. During the 9 year span of no new albums, she was able to release some new EPs and Mixtapes: Can’t Take That Away From Me, Agápē, #LoveJo.
Due to some problems between her and her past record label, Blackground Records, she was unable to release any new studio albums after 2006. She burst onto the scene in 2004 with her self titled debut album, JoJo, and released a very successful sophomore album titled, The High Road. To prove it, she dropped three impressive, new singles.Īfter a few years of no new music, some might have wondered, “What happened to JoJo?” which is an understandable question to ask considering that she is a great singer and always stayed out of trouble.
